Second Day Sweetness

Jet leg and free internet got the better of me. This is just a parsed version of this

Rome was the place I wanted to come back to the most after our Bandcamp musical expedition in the spring, but I haven't felt that same feeling of awe that I had when I was here last. Today was still good sport though.

Myself and Jordina (Now you're going to connect our names and say it's an Act Of God - lay off!) walked across town to the vatican this morning. I really had no goals in mind and neither did she, so we dilly dallied there.

Jordina decided she wanted to stay a while at the vatican to try and get a ticket for an audience with pope, I wasn't sure if I was leaving Rome the next morning for the first leg of my Greece trip or not, so I didn't wait in line. I might still try to get that in though (either now or in March when I'm back).

One sweet thing I did that I won't be able to do in march, is go open air ice skating along the Tevere river! I paid 7 euros for about an hour and a half (not cheap - as if you needed convincing), and it was well worth it.

I'm gonna fly into Athens on Friday or Saturday most likely. Going to Prague is too complicated. I've decided to ditch the train ferry train train train plan cause it cost too much for too much wasted time. So more Rome touring tomorow, and I'm gonna go to Anzio (not a long train ride from here) on Thursday.

Okay, Bed time!

I liked the long version Geordan. Couldn't find the pictures you spoke of though - where do we find them?
Sorry about Prague - guess you need a visa to go there.
Sorry too about the other skaters being aloof - if YOU couldn't get them to let you join in then they really were being jerks as you say. A lonely moment no doubt.
You're going back to Rome in March? Cody joining you for that one? Sounds like the 10 wks. in Greece is about the only truly planned piece - we are interested in how all this evolves. :)
James and I are holding the fort this week - bit strange. We went out for dinner tonight which was great. Love, Mom

    Geordan,
I also like the long version & your photography comments. Good for you to be attentive to your cultural surroundings. Travelling alone can sure be a bummer; I remember. I used to make conversation with waiters and store clerks just to have someone to talk to when travelling. It's hard when you want to share an interesting moment and there is no one to share it with, who gets it too. It takes a while, but you start to get used to it and possibly start to like the solitary journeying.
    Looking forward to reading more!

Thanks Ro! I've found lots of people to talk to in the hostel and around, but nothings quite like talking to someone you have history with (friends).

Mike: You better believe it. Rome's a dud, which sucks. I've scoured everywhere.

Nicole: Hahaha I'll have lots of old european men for you when I get back. =P

Thank you so much for the shirt! I wore it today. It's sweet, I didn't even get to open it when you were there! Frig

    See ya later
